The Power of Sensation During the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
The Super Blood Full Moon Eclipse greets us on May 26, 2021. This is a portal of energy into a new and higher state of consciousness all the while asking us to grow into our best selves which means allowing the fears, the stress and endless list of burdens to be set free. At this time we are being asked to surrender and to trust in the unfolding of the internal and external worlds at this time. We are being guided to the path of growth and to let go of what we have outgrown. This can feel liberating to some or shocking to some depending on how much we are willing to lean into this experience.
The more we become aware of our bodies and the subtle sensations we experience, the more present we become and the more we discover our feelings as expressions moving through us. We are not made of shame, doubt, fear or lack however, we can experience them and then let them pass through us or we can choose to hold onto them, own them and then believe we are those feelings. This my friends, does not serve us and it’s time to open the cage we created for ourselves.
When we are grounded in our bodies we tap into a great source of wisdom that gives us the opportunity to be more authentic. If we don’t allow ourselves to feel, we loose the full aspect of who we are. FEELING can be very FREEING. Our bodies provide us with a tremendous amount of knowledge and if you tune into it, you will understand where you carry stress and then you have the power to relax it and release it. If you don’t know what you are feeling you can’t let the tension go and then, it builds.
Too often we are distracted by the external “noise” we surround ourselves with. We are over-sensitized, overstimulated and overwhelmed with all this serotonin induced pleasure. It activates the cognitive parts of the brain that are more about being in the mind rather than FEELING in the body. The mind becomes the puppeteer of the body. So we are thinking our way through life instead of feeling our way through life. When we separate our selves from our emotions we are also separating ourselves from our emotional life. When we separate from our emotional life and we don’t experience the physical expression of our emotions it is very hard for us to understand what it feels like to be present and to actually know and process our feelings. This leads to not understanding why we do what we do.
Through presence and meditation we can sit with the feelings and sensations that are present and create a strong connection between mind and body. Allow the BODY to DISSOLVE the ISSUES in our tissues rather than SOLVING the PROBLEMS with our MINDS.
Find a comfortable place where you can close your eyes and begin to feel your body. Begin to check in by scanning your body from head to toe and noticing all types of sensations. Use your breath to stay grounded in your body. I like to start with relaxing my hands, feet and mouth because when I relax those areas of my body the rest of my body naturally follows. Then I can move into the 3 most receptive systems within us which are our respiratory (breath), our circulatory (heart) and our digestive system (belly). Take a few moments at each space in the body without trying to make anything happen. This is you checking in with you. A daily practice of this will give you the feedback you need in that moment.
